Golf Outing

Well, believe it or not, it’s time to start planning the Marinette Area Chamber of Commerce Annual "END OF SUMMER" Golf Outing.

This year’s event will take place at Little River Country Club on Tuesday, September 13, 2005.

Registrations will begin at 11:30 am with a shotgun start at 1:00 PM. The format will be a 4- man scramble with individual hole prizes, door prizes, special awards, beverages and dinner all included in the $50.00 per person fee.

Last year we had a great response to our request for hole sponsors. We had sponsors for every hole as well as the putting green, beverage carts and lots of individual donations. Each of the Hole Sponsors took advantage of this great promotional opportunity and created a game or "event" on their hole to make the outing more interesting and enjoyable for the golfers. All sponsors are given recognition through signage on the hole, listing on the "Sponsor Board" and in the program on the day of the event. Hole Sponsorships are $125. Call the Chamber ASAP if you are interested in sponsoring a hole this year. Believe me, they will go fast.

Your company can become an Event Sponsor for $50.00. Your company name will appear in the program and on the Sponsor Board. Door prizes, giveaway items for the golfers "grab bags" and cash donations are also welcome. This is a great way to show your support for the Chamber and your community while enjoying a great time with your friends and business associates.

Please contact Sue or Gary at the Chamber no later than July 31, 2005 if you’re interested in a sponsorship or donation to help make this years event the best ever!

Holiday Charity Ball

It's the Holiday Event of the Season. On December 2, 2005, the Marinette Area Chamber of Commerce will play host to the Fourth Annual Holiday Charity Ball at Schussler's Supper Club, Peshtigo. Featuring the band "C'est La Vie." It is a fundraising event that will benefit the Twin Counties Free Clinic, The Salvation Army food pantry, and Toys for Tots.

An evening of food, song and dance will provide an opportunity for everyone to dress to the nines to celebrate the holiday season in style. The evening's events will kick off with Cocktails at 6:00 pm, and dinner at 7:00 pm and dancing at 8:30 pm. Squeezed in between all that will be a Silent Auction as well as a raffle for prizes donated by a number of area businesses.

Start the holiday season in style while helping those in need. Tickets for the event are (to be decided yet) per person. For more information, please contact the Marinette Area Chamber of Commerce at 715-735-6681 or marinettechamber@cybrzn.com.

Bring a new toy or bag of nonperishable food or paper products for a second chance to win big prizes! Donations may also be dropped off at the Marinette Chamber of Commerce office prior to the event.

SAGBRAW Will not be coming to Marinette in 2005

For the third time in four years, the Marinette Area Chamber of Commerce was given the opportunity to kick off Sprockets Great Bike Ride Across Wisconsin as host to over 1,200 bicyclists winding their way along the shores of Lake Michigan and the Bay of Green Bay. Various local businesses and service organizations went out of their way to welcome the cyclists and get them off to a good start on their ride across Wisconsin.

SAGBRAW participants converged on Marinette on August 1-2, 2004 with many of the 1,200 bicyclists spending the night enjoying the sites and sounds of Marinette. They met at Marinette High School with many camping out on the school grounds. The Chamber manned an information booth and arranged for a shuttle bus to transport bicyclists throughout Marinette. The Habitat for Humanity and Respite Care served lunch and dinner with the Chamber serving breakfast in the morning.

They very much enjoyed their stay and we look forward to having them return in the future.
